Los Angeles NBC-TV Reports Another JW Pedophile

A Los Angeles, CA (USA) television station has reported that another alleged Jehovah’s Witness pedophile has been arrested in Southern California, this time in the San Fernando Valley community of Sun Valley.lozano2

Los Angeles police are asking families, especially in the San Fernando Valley, to take a good look at the booking photo of Marcelo Alonzo Lozano

This is especially serious as the accused pedophile, Lozano, has been acting as an usher (a Ministerial Servant assignment) at the Sun Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This has given him some level of authority over all those attending meetings there.  Lozano was charged with sexually abusing at least four boys who attended that Kingdom Hall. Investigators suspect there are more victims and are searching for more that may have been contacted or abused. They are asking families living in the San Fernando Valley to look at the booking photo of Marcelo Alonzo Lozano (shown above) to see if he may have been in contact with any other children. Lozano’s alleged victims ranged in age from 8 to 15.

Lozano was charged July 31 with nine felony counts in connection with the four boys at the Sun Valley Kingdom Hall. His bail was set at $1.8 million after he pled not guilty.

There was no comment from the elders or any of the publishers attending that Kingdom Hall. Police indicated that their investigation is ongoing and that they expect other victims to be identified. There is nothing in the story as reported by NBC-TV as to how Lozano’s alleged crimes came to light or who reported him to the local authorities. We would hope it was one of the other elders that finally stepped forward and took responsibility. We can only hope…
