JW Paedophile receives 20 years for kidnapping and attempted rape in Morocco

Robert Bill - Convicted in Morocco

Robert Bill, 59, who was convicted of attempted child abduction in Wales, has now been sentenced to 20 years in Tetouan, Morocco. He was arrested in June 2013 when a six-year-old girl went missing. She was found in Bill’s Spanish registered car by a group of adults who called the police.

The UK’s Daily Mail reports that on the 16th April 2014, he “was found guilty of kidnapping and attempting to rape another two Moroccan girls prior to his arrest – one in Tetouan and one in the nearby town of Chefchaouen.”

After serving prison time for attempting to abduct a child in the UK, Bill relocated to Malaga, Southern Spain in August 2012.

His son, Stephen, told Spanish website “The Olive Press” it was “ridiculous” his father had been allowed to rebuild his life on the continent.

In Malaga, Bill rented a two-bedroom cottage and found work as an estate agent. He drove a silver grey Peugeot 106 with a “baby on board” sticker in the back window – despite not having a young child.

In late 2012, the Spanish police revealed they were searching for him after obtaining CCTV footage of him bundling a 12-year-old Romanian girl into his car. The child was able to escape through an unlocked door.

His previous conviction in the UK was in March 2009 for trying to abduct a five-year-old girl from a council estate in Holywell, Wrexham in June 2007. He was also found guilty of downloading child pornography on his computer, being in possession of 730 pornographic images of children, and indecently assaulting an eight-year-old girl.

For these offences, he was sentenced to six years, but on appeal it was reduced to two years. During this time his family supported him. In 2009, Mrs. Bill and son David admitted to perverting the course of justice to protect Bill by destroying a laptop computer. She was given a six-month suspended sentence and also ordered to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work. David was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.

While on the run in December 2012, his now ex-wife appealed for him to give himself up. She also revealed how misled the family had been by his lies.

Mrs Bill, 54, told Wales Online: “He lied to us for years and when we found him out he just made little of itWe’re rebuilding our lives without him.”

To stop any further contact or influence the family took out a restraining order.

More information

The website Silent Lambs says of Bill’s involvement with Jehovah’s Witnesses:

Apparently Robert Bill was a long time (26 years) member with a Book Study in his home and may have been a pioneer.

He is caught and being extradited for his crimes against children.

A JW reports this comment: “He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Denbigh and held weekly bible studies at his home in St Asaph. He did regular ministerial work, (in his quest to befriend families with little girls)”

“We first met him when he and other witnesses were doing their field work/ministry in our area, calling from door to door. We honestly thought he was a decent fellow and over the months of bible studies he charmed his way into our lives (as he had done with many other families with young children) and befriended us. We trusted his family, wife, four sons, brother etc… and never realized he had other, sinister, intentions towards our children.”

“We now consider ourselves and our children very lucky that we declined his frequent offers to take our two little girls to play at his ‘retreat.’

“It transpired that all along that a large number of the congregation, elders included, actually knew all along that he was a paedophile and molesting young girls, but they managed to keep it secret until Bob became more and more careless with his crimes and was arrested for the attempted abduction of a 5 year old girl.”
